Kirloskar Chillers Private Limited

During the year 2017-18, nine employee volunteers from KCPL, Saswad helped in the implementation of Kirloskar WaSH Initiative in two schools in Purandar Taluka – Hutatma Umaji Naik School, Bhivadi & Jijamata High School, Jejuri. The activities were conducted with the help of Kirloskar Foundation and led by 85 student volunteers from the respective schools’ WaSH clubs. The activities commenced with club formation and administering the pledge in the schools accompanied by a ‘No Spitting’ March. In July, all volunteers underwent training on all the initiatives. In the month of August, clean drinking water and personal hygiene programmes were carried out in the schools. September saw activities related to waste segregation while in October, awareness of the Hand Wash activity was promoted. The last month of 2017 was devoted to Adolescence and Personal Hygiene in schools. In January, the Foundation called a Parents’ Meeting to obtain feedback on the activities carried out till then. In February, the schools and their volunteers were felicitated by the Kirloskar Foundation in presence of Kirloskar employee volunteers. During April, an annual event is held where Kirloskar Employee Volunteers who have contributed the most in terms of time and efforts are felicitated.

KCPL contributed 54 Man-days (429 Man-hours) for this social initiative during the year 2017-18. The total number of school children who were beneficiaries of the Kirloskar WaSH initiative by KCPL was 1415 from the above mentioned 2 schools.
